We spent a couple of days on the Green River in Wyoming this week. I love that place. We started with a full day float and then realized its better to wade. So we floated to the good zones and got off the boats then caught some hogs. It was well worth the trip. The hot flies were Platte River Spiders and Red or Orange Zebra Midges. We caught Rainbows, Browns, Cutts of course White fish and a random Lake Trout. I would suggest you make the trip. Fish On!
Tip Of The Week: Adventure Beers
I'm stoked that Miller/Coors is making these resealable 16 oz beer cans. They work great for fishing and other fun outdoor activities. The advantage is you can open a beer and then close it to get back to casting and stripping. When packing your beer around in your chest or hip pack always make sure to wrap them with koozies. Keeps the frosty brew cold while hiking around and makes for a great treat after reeling in a big one. ><:::>
Flaming Gorge Lake Trout
I wonder if one of these guys would creep in to the Green River? How fun would that we to catch on a fly rod! Check out a couple of the photos from the Utah DNR Facebook page of the gill net survey of Antelope Flat. Matt McKell shows off one of 12 lake trout netted at Antelope Flat. This is a 23 pounder.
Ian Kennedy shows a big lake trout from this morning's gill netting trek at Antelope Flat.
Hams Fork fishing update
We went up to Hams Fork on Tuesday. The water was effected by run off making it a little high and off color. We still hammered through the conditions and hooked on to a few good fish. Mostly Rainbow trout but Sean Boss hooked in to a nice 24" Brown to end the day. It was a fun trip but I would recommend giving that spot a few weeks for the river to calm down.
Some good fishing lately.
we've been going out on the river everyday and just slaying some fish. Here's a couple photo's of some trout we've caught.

Tip Of The Week: Lifeproof Case
Todays tip is more of a product review. But I think it pretty cool and love to using it. The LIFEPROOF iPhone case!
I was fishing with my buddy Tad. He pulled out his iPhone to take a photo of a fish and whoops he dropped it in the river. After trying all the tricks to dry it out he ended up having to replace it. I didn't want to make the same mistake and went looking for a water proof case. Mouse put me on to the LIFEPROOF case. Its pretty bomber. After doing some research on web, watching videos of people taking it snorkeling and filming fish under water I had to get it. I could not be any happier. I take mine fishing with no worries and love to play around and take under water photos. I don't have any stress about dropping it in or out of the water. If you use your phone to listen to music while fishing or to take photos I would suggest grabbing one of these guys.
Temporarily Unemployed Fishermen
I figure you can see that the Brighton Anglers have some spare time on their hands. With multiple blog posts of different crews hitting up separate rivers in the same day it looks like we don't have jobs. Its kind of true. With the ski season winding down and the resorts closing we all have a little R&R to catch up on. We of course chose to do it with fly rods in our hands. Here's some photos from a fly fishing trip to the Weber River the other day. Caught on to a nice little caddis hatch that got the fish all excited. Supper fun afternoon. Enjoy!

Caddis Crazy!
Went out on the river today with Mouse and Isla (AKA spawn of Mouse). We had a late start but ended up hitting the hatch right when it started getting good. Caddis were everywhere, it was quite crazy! Nothin better than catching a bunch of trout on big dry flies! Yehaww!

Training Facility/ Football Practice/ We Derk Dere Hogs
Part of the crew went out to the Training Facility, way out there deep in hog country the other day. The day started out very unsuccessful and was bumming us all out. Good thing one of us was scarring a cooling full of cold beers to pass the downtime. Then finally, BAM! Mouse hooked up to two good sizable fish one after another in a good hole. Check the pictures to see these hogs i mention of. After that it seemed we caught on to the fish and stared to rip some lip and landed some footballs. Streamers of the colors green and ginger worked quite well and so did the famous SOW bug. Good times at the zone.
Brighton Anglers sticker still hangin at the Betos window

Thing was a beaut! This guy didn't want to come in to shore that's for sure.
Then Mouse hooked into another one right after that!
This guy was BIG! One hell of a fight with Mouse i'd say!
